What is camt.054? A debit and credit notification
camt.054 is the ISO 20022 Bank-to-Customer Debit/Credit Notification message. A bank can use it to report account debits and credits before the next end-of-day statement. ISECure's File Exchange API retrieves files offered by the bank through the same integration as other bank files.
camt.054, camt054, or camt 054?
The spellings camt.054, camt054, and camt 054 refer to the same ISO 20022 Bank-to-Customer Debit/Credit Notification message family. A complete identifier also names the schema version, such as camt.054.001.08. The bank agreement and implementation guideline determine the version in use.
camt.054 and camt.053 serve different moments
camt.053 is a statement that summarizes balances and booked entries for a reporting period. camt.054 is a notification of individual or grouped debits and credits. When offered by the bank, it can help software reconcile incoming payments sooner.
Availability, delivery frequency, content, and schema version depend on the bank and corporate agreement. camt.054 therefore does not automatically mean a real-time transaction stream.
How camt.054 is retrieved
ISECure handles the bank's WS channel, certificates, signing, and file retrieval. Your software lists and downloads the raw file through the REST API, SDK, or file synchronization, then processes the ISO 20022 XML delivered by the bank.
- One connection pattern across Finnish banks
- Automatic certificate lifecycle management
- Listing and downloading new camt.054 files
- Original file content remains unchanged
Processing API does not expand camt.054 support
The production ISECure REST API — File Exchange transports camt.054 without changing its content. The current public test scope of the separate Processing API covers pain.001 payment generation; it does not promise camt.054 normalization or bank- and version-specific support.
